Sikeston JV wins in first round of ND tourney

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Sikeston junior varsity team started off the season on a winning note, defeating Farmington 69-42 in the first round of the Notre Dame JV Tournament on Tuesday.

Sikeston jumped out to a 23-8 first quarter lead and extended it to 40-18 by halftime and 57-29 entering the fourth quarter.

Dantrell Brown led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points. Freshman Earnest Fobbs had 10 points and six rebounds and Chris Scott had nine points and eight rebounds.

The Bulldogs play Poplar Bluff today in the semifinal round of the tournament.
