Mississippi County officials hold hearing for violations

CHARLESTON -- Results of Mississippi County's first hearing for alleged violations of the county nuisance ordinance: one dropped, one to be continued.

Hearings for Brian Lambert and Sondra Hedge were scheduled during the County Commission's regular weekly meeting Thursday.

Ken Stevenson, county code enforcement officer, said Lambert was first given notice on Aug. 24 that his property on Highway 80 west of East Prairie was out of compliance with the county's nuisance ordinance.

After 15 days had passed, a violation notice was written, he said.
