CHAFFEE -- The Rev. Jack Bishop, 82, died Dec. 13, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 26, 1930, at Neely's Landing, to the late Archie Lee and Margaret Rose Bullard Bishop, he served in the ministry for 58 years pastoring several churches in Missouri, Arkansas and Indiana after serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Mason for over 50 years, currently a member at the Chaffee Masonic Lodge AF&AM 615. His home church was New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas. He was the pastor and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee.

On July 10, 1955, at Amity, Ind., he married Kathy Weddle who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Cindy Harris of Benton; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lesa Bishop of Bunker; one brother, the Rev. Delbert Bishop of Oran; two sisters, Sharon McCullough and LaDora Sides of Jackson; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Bishop.

Visitation is scheduled after 4 p.m. today at the Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Wimberly officiating.

Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
