PUXICO -- Forest S. Denton, 68, formerly of Flora, Ill., died Feb. 10, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 12, 1944, in Flora, son of Bernice Evelyn Strange Denton and the late Hershell B. Denton, he had lived in Flora most of his life until moving to Puxico 12 years ago. He had worked as an electrician and plumber and was of the Pentecostal belief.

In 1965, at Louisville, Ill., he married Diane Sullivan. In 2001, at Bloomfield, he married Wanda Hart who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Acree of Louisville and Tina Kilgore of Fountain, Colo.; one son, Tracy Denton of Braidwood, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Anita Weedman of Norris City, Ill.; one stepson, Keith Moore of Puxico; four sisters, Sharon Atchison of Marion, Ill., Karen Denton of Iuka, Ill., Terri Ettleson of Flora and Toni Carder of Clay City, Ill.; and nine grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Visitation will also be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Frank and Bright Funeral Home in Flora where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Jeff Hough of Johnsonville, Ill., officiating.

Burial will be in the Bunker Hill Cemetery near Flora with the Watkins and Sons and Frank and Bright funeral homes in charge of arrangements.
