SPEAKOUT

Thrifty spender

I just read in the paper from a supporter on the one-cent sales tax. I'd like to put my one-cents worth in and tell them to vote against it. We are taxed enough on everything that we do, and the city has already proved that they can waste over $25,000 just to hire somebody. Let them come back just like everyone else and spend their money wisely. We don't need to be taxes anymore. Please, vote against the one-cent sales tax.

Split or forget

In regards to the sales tax that is coming up on the ballot, I will be glad to support a sales tax for DPS and Land Clearance Redevelopment. Those two things are important. SAHEC, I do no support that part of it. Southeast gets money from the state. They charge tuition. We don't have a tax to help out Three Rivers here in Sikeston. Let Southeast do it on their own. Just split that sales tax between DPS and Land Clearance. Otherwise, we don't need the tax.

Put U.S. first

I heard on the news that they are planning on spending a billion dollars a month over in Egypt, and saying we need to get involved. No, we do not need to get involved. They say Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security is going broke, and they don't have the money for it. Well then explain to me how they can put a billion dollars a month over in Egypt and they don't have money for over here in the United States? I tell you what we need to do. We need to get rid of all the Democrats, all the Republicans and put a brand new bunch of people in there. I am sick and tired of how they don't care about this country, but when one of them just flops their face over there, we have to run over there and send them money. It's ridiculous. Republicans are just as bad as the Democrats. They're all in it. We need to take care of the United States first. The only way we are going to get anything done is start calling and demanding that put it back over here and pay Social Security back. A billion dollars a month? They can afford to pay Social Security and Medicaid and Medicare for the elderly. I'm tired of them taking it away over here and giving it away.
