FALL BASEBALL

Holcomb 4, Risco 3

RISCO -- Undone by a big second inning, the Risco Tigers fell to visiting Holcomb 4-3 on Monday.

The Hornets rallied for all four of their runs in the fateful frame after a dropped pop up by the Tigers allowed Holcomb to eventually load the bases. A grand slam by Dustin Houart in the next at bat gave the Hornets a 4-0 edge.

Risco responded with a run in the bottom of the frame and scored two more in the third innings to close back within a run.

Unfortunately for the Tigers they were never able to plate the game-tying run.

Taking the loss was Jordon Pavy, who went six innings where he allowed five hits and five walks while striking out eight.

DJ Young led the Tigers with a 2 for 3 effort at the plate, including a single in the third.

Now at 2-9, the Tigers will visit Southland today at 4 p.m.
