New siren for Sikeston

Thursday, October 24, 2013
The sixth storm-warning siren scheduled to be placed across the community is installed at the intersection of School and Stalcup streets Thursday morning by employees of the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities and Steve Cearlock with Outdoor Warning Consultants. A storm siren was installed Tuesday at the intersection of Ables Road and Illinois Avenue. In addition to providing emergency warnings for the public, the sirens will also sound the "Westminster chimes" at noon each day. Here, BMU employees Mark Williams and Kevin Clark guide the siren into place as David Monroe works the controls on the ground. (Jill Bock, Staff)
