SIKESTON -- Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers are seeking a man for an armed robbery.

At about 6:07 p.m. Thursday an employee at Cash Country on South Main reported a black male wearing a black hoodie and armed with a black pistol approached and demanded the bank bag while the employee was locking up the business for the night.

The suspect then fled on foot through a nearby alleyway with an undetermined amount of cash.

At 6:28 p.m. four or five shots were fired with a home on Dorothy Street being hit three times including one in the front door, according to a caller living on that street.

Also, a black male dressed in dark clothing was reported running from that area.

DPS Capt. Bill Mygatt said he "can't say with any certainty" those shots were fired by the robbery suspect but that it seems like more than a coincidence.
