Getting them on the road

Surely your readers aren't expected to believe everything the Director of Public Works said. Using manholes as an excuse is one of the lamest things I have ever heard. I suspect if you dug a little I think you may find the real problem lies in lack of experience and maybe judgment. It seems to me a bit of a disgrace to have the roads in Sikeston in such poor condition for so long. Luckily for us we don't usually have much of a winter.

I would like to know why the highway department has not cleaned off these roads. There are elderly people living over on Watson and several different places around here and they haven't cleaned out nothing. Cars still have the ice and snow on them. They have to go to the doctor, some have to go to work. They can't walk, some have cancer. It is pitiful that they do not clean these roads off. There is no need for that and they could be doing a lot better.
