Roadies

I wonder if the city of Sikeston has found their snowplows yet? Maybe they can use them the next time it snows.

I'm complaining about over at Morehouse they are not cleaning off the streets. Maybe they will get off their butts and clean off the roads if they see this so we can go to town or something.

Not a good grade

I am giving the city a pretty low grade of "D" when it comes to how they handled the clearing of the city's streets. I'm not talking about the two main streets in town. I'm talking about the road into the city's industrial park north of town. Who is responsible for clearing Rose Parkway? Isn't that area in the city limits? It's been 72 hours since the major winter storm dumped many, many inches of ice, sleet and snow in the area and it still a solid sheet of ice. If the main road into the city's industrial park is the city's responsibility, I don't think the city cares enough about those people who work at some of the city's largest employers. Hundreds of people used that road daily and for it to be three entire days and it still looks like no one has even touched the road reflects negatively on whoever controls the clearing of Rose Parkway. In addition, I think a street that ends at a stoplight in town should be considered a higher priority and the condition of Plantation Blvd 72 hours after the storm is horrible. I did see a plow Friday during the height of the storm, but it looks like it never saw another plow or salt truck all weekend. I know Sikeston has many streets to cover, but they could have done a much better job handling this storm.
