Out with the old, in with the new

Employees of Delta Companies Inc. clear away the debris left from the demolition of the former concrete plant at the corner of Ingram and Ables Road. According to Van Loomes, plant manager, the company has constructed a new concrete facility at a new location on the site. The new facility provides more economical operation and a more convenient location, Loomes said. When the removal of the debris is completed in the next several weeks, the area will be leveled to create a parking area, which Loomes pointed out will be available to the public during the football season. Also as part of the effort to "go green," Delta Companies will landscape part of the property to include trees and shrubbery, he said. (Jill Bock, Staff)
