Local "Wannabe Hooper League" in season

SIKESTON -- An all new basketball league has been formed -- the WHL, which stands for the "Wannabe Hooper League".

There are six teams of eight players that are made up of Sikeston High School and home school boys that do not play on any school basketball team.

As we have no school, church or civic organization affiliation, we contract leased the Sikeston Junior High gym and play three games every Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m.

Our first game was Saturday, Jan. 11 and the last games will be our championship games on March 1.

We had a large amount of spectators at our first games and encourage anyone that likes to watch boys have clean, organized and fun basketball games to come out. There is no admission.
