PREP ROUNDUP: Lady Bulldogs prevail against Cape in OT, Frazier scores 35

HILLSBORO -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs got the Hillsboro Invitational Tournament started off right on Monday with a 51-43 overtime win over Cape Central.

Sikeston (6-8) used a strong first half, where they outscored the Lady Tigers 22-18, to take a 4-point lead into the fourth quarter. Cape Central managed to tie the game and force overtime, where the Lady Bulldogs outpaced them 9-1 for the win.

Tyra Bonner had a team-high 10 points to lead Sikeston with Mikayla Nichols and Erica Peet added eight points each to the cause.

Sikeston, the fourth seed, will take on top-seeded Rockwood Summit on Friday in the championship semifinals.

MARBLE HILL -- Led by senior Mikaela Blissett's game-high 32 points the Scott County Central Bravettes took down the Woodland Lady Cardinals on Monday 67-58.

Blissett, who recently eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for her career, shot 11 of 17 (64 percent) from the field and 9 of 15 (60 percent) at the free throw line. She also tied for the team-high with nine rebounds to go along with two blocks and a pair of steals.

Abby Ross contributed 13 points while collecting seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Ziaire Davis finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Scott Central (11-3) doubled up the Lady Cardinals in the first quarter, 16-8, and took a six-point lead into halftime. They outpaced Woodland 34-31 in the final two quarters to hold on for the win.

This was Scott Central's eighth win in a row.

CHARLESTON -- The Charleston Lady Bluejays nailed 12 3-pointers on their way to an 86-76 win over visiting Meridian, Ill., Monday.

Sierra Frazier led all scorers with 35 points and hit eight 3-pointers in the process. Juwanna Walker added 26 points while Cheyenne Randle chipped in 17.

Charleston (9-6) will host Malden on Thursday.

NEW MADRID -- Rashaunda Summers scored 26 points and the New Madrid County Central Lady Eagles rallied from a late deficit to defeat East Prairie 70-64.

NMCC (10-7) trailed 47-46 entering the fourth quarter but outscored the Lady Eagles 24-17 in the final eight minutes to pull out the victory.

Shanterra Waters scored 15, Amirah Ruff added 11 and Whitney Williams chipped in 10 for NMCC.

Rebekah Douglas led East Prairie (5-6) with 24 points. Caitlyn Harwell added 14 and Kailyn Shands scored 13.
