Slaves and Prisoners In Eqypt

The situation was dire enough for the Hebrews who were held as slaves and prisoners in Egypt. They had no hope for escape and as far as the promised land was concerned, they had no hope of that. Moses had come but nothing had changed. Egypt had been leveled to the dust by plague after plague but Pharaoh remained unbroken, unbelieving and determined to not let his captive Hebrews go. That was the situation and it was dire enough.
