SIKESTON -- The city of Sikeston will again participate in the "Back to School" sales tax holiday.

Council members voted unanimously during their monthly briefing session Monday to not opt out of the annual event held the first Friday through the first Sunday of August.

To not participate, the city would need to forward an opting-out ordinance to the Missouri Department of Revenue no later than June 15, according to Carroll Couch, city clerk.
