SIKESTON -- Movies in the Park may get rescheduled due to rain, but they are back.

Movies in the Park was presented by Michael Carnell last year for the first time as a free, family-friendly event.

"We did two in the fall," Carnell said. "We did 'The Goonies' first. We expected about a hundred people, max, and about four or five hundred showed up. So we decided to definitely do it again."

The second was a Halloween presentation.

"We did 'Hocus Pocus,'" Carnell said. "We always try to go with themes, make it more fun for the kids."

"The Sandlot" is the first movie Carnell plans to present this year.

"I show classics that parents and their kids can enjoy," he said.
