He turned and walked away

I'm getting tired of hearing all the bleeding hearts complain about the soldier that was supposedly kidnapped by the Taliban and brought home by the release of five terrorists. Everybody seems to forget that he deserted his post. Whether he was serving the United States here at a post, or overseas like he was, when you walk away from your post you are a deserter. The Taliban did not break into that post and steal him off of his cot. He walked away himself which makes him a deserter. He needs to be tried as a deserter and then dealt with as military code of justice does. So all you bleeding hearts need to quit crying, 'Boo hoo hoo, we should've brought him home.' You know what, if he was my son I would want him brought him home but not just so we could turn five terrorists loose so that they can kill more of our people.

Closing Cottonwood

I don't agree with Governor Nixon in closing Cottonwood Residential Center in Cape Girardeau. I think he needs to cut money from them schools. They are getting money from the lottery. They are getting money from the casinos. It seems like every time you pick up the paper, some teacher in some district is getting a raise. So why don't they cut the raises on these teachers and keep Cottonwood open so these troubled youth will have a place to live and a place to realize they are something? If they cut this place out, all that will happen is there will be more crimes later on life with these people.

A patriotic American

I live in Sikeston and I fly my American flag everyday. Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone would fly their flag everyday instead of just on special days? Everyday should be special.

Up in smoke

I just saw on the news where they said more teenagers were smoking marijuana. What did the dumb butts expect when they legalized marijuana? Did they think that just people that were sick were gonna smoke it? Dumb butts are gonna smoke it. They should take that legalization off of marijuana. People with cancer and stuff, it does help them. But a lot of people are just smoking it because it's legal. Get it straightened up. That's ridiculous! If they don't want teens to smoke it, they need to keep it away from them and not have it legal where anybody can get it for any little pain and just stand around and be all doped up on marijuana.
