SPEAKOUT

Don't vote? Don't gripe!

First I would like to wish the greatest nation on earth a 238th happy birthday. There is not another country on earth that has the freedom to worship God as we do and to come and go as we please. And a little over one month away, we'll be going to the polls voting for state representatives, county and city. One may ask what if you have two good friends who are running for the same job, but on two different parties? You just have to pray and ask the Lord to lead you to the right one. One more thing, if you don't vote, don't gripe and complain. Thank you and God bless America.

I pay mine, you pay yours

I would hate to see a major business in southeast Missouri close because of electric rates, but I'd rather not have to pay for them to be here seeing as there are thousands of people on Ameren UE and only a thousand at the business. I would hate to see anyone lose their job, but I don't think it's fair that I should have to pay for them to be here.

Not in Missouri schools

I wonder who wrote this in the July 7 SpeakOut about "Times, they are a changing." Maybe they put those things on the walls in Texas, but not in Missouri. I've been to many a schools and never heard a teacher teach anything like that. I've never seen a dirty picture on the wall. I think whoever wrote this must be one of those people who got in trouble for saying things were wrong. I don't know if it's wrong or right. I don't pretend to know. But I do know, this is not true. They should be ashamed to say such horrible things about our schools. And the Common Core, I just think it's a different way of trying to teach, but not using sex to teach. I believe that is a big lie everywhere. I know it is in Missouri schools.

The whole town's buzzing

This is to the city of Morehouse. What's your problem over there dude that you can't spray? You can charge someone out the end for that water but you can't do a little spraying for those outrageous mosquitos over there.
