"Your word is a lamp to my feet and light for my path" Psalm 119:105

This should not come as a shock to anyone, but we have a problem in this country with people not believing that the Bible is the Word of God. How do we know, by the fruit that people are producing in their life? The Bible is clear that we are not to judge, but I believe that we are to be fruit inspectors. Fact of the matter is we are given a list of fruits of the Spirit of God. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control....." Galatians 5:22-23.

When we look around in this country I am not sure that we see a lot of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It seems to me that we see a lot more selfishness and people looking out for me, myself, and I more than helping our fellow man. Why? Well could it be that we think that we can do things better than God? That we are smart than God? That we do not trust God?

Christianity Today conducted a poll and found that Americans who say the Bible is the actual Word of God is 28%. Americans who said this thirty years ago was 38%.

If we not believe that the Bible is the Word of God, what we are really say is that there are no moral standards that we have to live by, and we are free to live as we choose. Well as Dr. Phil would ask: How is that working out for us?

Ever since prayer was removed from school in 1963 ever major crime statistic has gone some as much as 300%.

Psalm 119 tells us that the Word of God is a lamp to guide our feet and light for the path that we are to walk in this world. If we do not have the light of God for our walk then we walking in darkness and it is like anything goes. That is not the dream that God has for this world.

Christians living in this country need to stand up for the beliefs that are based on scripture and shout it from the mountain tops. Stand up and say I believe what the Bible says is right and I am going to live my life in the way that the Bible tells me to. The question that we have to ask ourselves is do we believe the Bible? Am I living my life based on what I believe? If so then we need to share that belief.

God bless,
