Getting a little rowdy

I just saw on the news where there are having more fights at ballgames and that it's probably due to liquor. The solution to that would be stop selling liquor. You don't have to have beer everywhere you go. If they are gonna drink beer and get rowdy, let them keep their behinds at home and drink and get rowdy. It's ridiculous. You can't go anywhere anymore without people serving beer, whiskey and people acting stupid. People won't even go places anymore because they know there are going to be stupid-acting drunks. If they'd cut out selling beer and stuff at events, all that would stop.

Save our fire department

There's a chance that the doors of the Miner Fire Department, that has been in service since 1956, will close and Sikeston Fire Protection will take over. If this happens, all citizens and businesses will pay higher taxes to pay for this change. If you have questions about this contract, contact your mayor or your aldermen and attend the next city council meeting. Please help save our fire department.

It's not clear to me

It's that time of year again - harvest time. For the life of me I can't understand why there is not a burn ordinance for the farmers. Why do they have to burn the cornfields and pollute what little clean air we have? Does the EPA not have something to say about this? And don't even get me started on the planes spraying defoliant! No wonder everyone has upper respiratory problems in this area.
