Rewarded for Obedience

When a person is called to be a missionary it is necessary for them to leave home, possessions, relatives, worldly ambitions and go to wherever God has led them to go. This calling is much like Abraham's call that he received in Genesis 12. Abraham was called to give up alot but because you can never out give God he was promised much more. When we obey and follow the Lord he promises blessings in return. God said to his people Israel, "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee" (Deuteronomy 31:6). The Psalmist said in Psalm 84:11, "No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." God promised to bless Israel and God promises to bless us when we obey and trust him. As the popular hymn says, "Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus and to trust and obey." God calls us today to separated lives and promises much in the way of reward. Remember that God loves you and so does First Baptist Church.
