Charleston Middle School students took a field trip Oct. 17 to the Sikeston Career and Technology Center. Each quarter Susan Collier's sixth grade career class spends eight weeks investigating various careers and post-secondary education alternatives. This study culminates in a trip to the technology center, where they see training for occupations like nursing, TV production, engineering, criminal justice and graphic arts, to name a few. Assisted by CMS Counselor Jennifer Dement, Collier took 14 students from Anne Willis' homeroom class this quarter. She said the students were eager to learn about the different occupations and the education opportunities available to them.
