Keeping a family tradition

Seven-year-old Ashley Smith is learning about lighting and keeping family tradition as she assists her father, Steven Smith to string lights south of Matthews over the weekend. Smith explained they were working on the project in memory of his dad, Rickey Smith, who died earlier this year. According to Smith each Thanksgiving Day he would join his father in putting up the holiday lights. This year he expects to have 4,000 lights in place along with other holiday decorations.
