Sikeston only led 20-19 at the half, but took a 36-24 lead going into the fourth quarter, eventually building a 22-point lead.

"We came out in the first half and weren't ready to play," Sikeston coach Derek James said. "That's something that we will have to learn. You have to be ready to play and it starts in practice and in warmups and then you have to maintain that intensity the entire game. But on the positive side, we played much better in the second half and showed great energy and intensity to close out the game so that's something we can build on."

Sikeston was led in scoring by Kevin Jones with 17 points. Trey Jenkins followed up with nine points.

Sikeston will play at Charleston on Tuesday with seventh grade action starting at 6 p.m.
