Students from Gloria Houston's health occupation class at Sikeston Career and Technology Center wanted to give back to those affected by cancer and recently made blankets and delivered them to the Missouri Delta Cancer and Infusion Center. "Cancer has affected someone in our family at some point in time," Houston said. "... The staff at the Center was so thankful for the kindness shown by the students. The staff at the cancer center work hard each day, and they love to see their patients receive a blessing like this." Patients receiving cancer treatments often become very cold and the students thought if they had their own blankets, it would help the process be a little more comfortable for them, Houston said, adding this is another way that the SCTC SkillsUSA team improves the community by giving back.
