CHARLESTON - "Family Game Night: All-Holiday Edition" was conducted March 24 at Warren E. Hearnes Elementary School for grades prekindergarten through fifth.

The theme was "All-Holiday," which meant that the games, decorations and music were based on popular national holidays. Teachers and participants were encouraged to wear holiday-themed clothes.

Refreshments were provided in the gray gym while games were held in the blue gym. Notable games included "Snow Ball Soup," where students transported snowballs in a relay race, and "St. Patrick's Plinko," where students tried to land Plinko gold coins into the pots of gold at the bottom.

Other activities included a game of "Pin the Mouth on the Ghost," a "Mystery Presents" guessing game, as well as "Holiday Karaoke," where students got to sing-along to their favorite holiday tunes. There was also a "Holiday Creatures Coloring Station" for students to mix and match heads, torsos, and legs to create their own unique holiday creature.

The purpose of this event was to provide a place for families to have a fun, safe and positive time with each other and with the school. Pizza and refreshments were served, including lemonade and cookies that were provided by OPAA! Food Services.

Several individuals who donated decorations and treats for this event. The event was a product of Title 1 Parent Involvement, organized by B.J. Babb, parent liaison.
