Arrests made in Sikeston DPS roundup

Law enforcement officers arrest a female at the 300 block of Branum in Sikeston as part of the Sikeston Department of Public Safety's June warrant roundup Wednesday morning.

SIKESTON -- Officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety kicked off their June warrant roundup Wednesday, arresting 16.

According to DPS Captain Jim McMillen, the warrants were for a variety of charges including drug distribution, drug possession, unlawful possession of a firearm, burglary, sex offenses, stealing, receiving stolen property and other miscellaneous offenses. In addition to the arrests, three were served summons and one subject was found to be in the Department of Corrections.

McMillen said the roundup began at 6:15 a.m. with the Drug Enforcement Agency, Alcohol Tobacco Firearms, Missouri State Highway Patrol, SEMO Drug Task Force, Charleston Department of Public Safety, Scott County Sheriff's Department, New Madrid County Sheriff's Department, Cape Girardeau Police Department, Poplar Bluff Police Department, Scott County Prosecutor's Office and the Missouri National Guard Raid 1 Helicopter all assisting.

During the arrests, which were completed by noon, officers also recovered a firearm that was in the possession of a convicted felon, McMillen said.

Arrested during the round up were:

Thomas Maddox, theft of a firearm, Scott County bond: $10,000 cash or surety; Terry Brown, two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, Scott County bond: $75,000 cash only; Leon Simon, distribution of a controlled substance near school, Scott County bond: $15,000 cash;

Zachariah Harris, distribution of a controlled substance near school, Scott County bond: $15,000 cash or surety; Madonna Graham, possession of a controlled substance, Scott County bond: $15,000 cash or surety; Ladonna Brittian, possession of a controlled substance, Scott County summons issued; Ronnie Haynes, possession of a controlled substance, Scott County bond $5,000 cash only;

Scott Stone, possession of a controlled substance, Scott County bond $25,000 cash only; Heather Ervin, felony theft, Scott County summons issued; Tina Robbins, felony theft, Scott County summons issued; Terry M. Clark, felony theft, Scott County bond $500 cash only;

Christie Burgess, distribution of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, New Madrid County bond $10,000 cash or surety; Rhonda Franklin, second degree statutory rape and second degree sodomy, Scott County bond $25,000 cash or surety; Tyler McClinton, receiving stolen property, New Madrid County bond $4,500 cash or surety; Alex Green, abuse/neglect of a child, Scott County bond $10,000 cash or surety;

Deron McClinton, resisting officer, Scott County bond $1,000 cash only (In custody Department of Corrections prior to round up); and Howard Hudson, felony theft, New Madrid County bond $25,000 cash or surety.

As of press time, charges were pending against three others.

Drew Juden, director of the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, expressed his thanks for the cooperation between the agencies.

"This roundup was part of a continuing effort to decrease the violence and criminal activity in our city," said Juden.
