Don't leave out Miner

I'd like to respond to "Every town has eyesores." They are leaving out one town and that's Miner. There are three or four houses out here that are strictly eyesores but the worst one is on Gilmore. He has all kinds of rubbish in the front yard, the back yard. Occasionally when I go to work, I have seen rats in that yard. It is continually messed up all the time as best as I can see in there. There are trees that the limbs are hanging all the way down to the ground. You can't always see in there when the limbs get leaves on them.

Mike wants good for all

I'm calling about a June 14 speakout, "A Nixon fan." I know Mike Jensen and his family. I know his parents very well. They've worked hard in life. Mike has helped many Democrats, for your information. It doesn't matter what end of town you live in, the east end or the west end, south or north, Mike will help you. I have known of many, many times his donations to the community and to help people who need help. I'm sorry to see that you are talking about my friend, Mike, who runs the Sikeston Democrat paper. Mike works hard on a lot of boards in our city and he has our interests at heart, the citizens of this town. Mike wants to see everybody do good and prosper. It doesn't matter if you're middle-class or no-class. Mike wants to see people do good. I ask that next time you make statements like that, you check out what you're talking about because Mr. Jensen does a great job for the city of Sikeston and has a great paper as far as I'm concerned. Think again before you make a statement like that. He does a great job for our community. God bless, have a good weekend and go to church.

Need to barter with Charter

This is about Charter Cable Co. It seems like that anyone who has basic cable cannot get the shows they pay for. Why should we pay for them if we don't get to watch them?
