Humble ourselves and Pray

The people in this world have let things go to pot.

In the wake of the tragic events of Charleston, South Carolina, an organization called 2AO is asking for Americans to rise up and protect our nation's churches through responsible gun training and ownership.

That is okay, but that should not be the first thing we should do. What we need to do, is get on our knees and to seek God's face, to humbly pray to the Heavenly Father for guidance, to ask for our forgiveness. Believe me, I have a lot to ask for his forgiveness about, and I would dare say you to do. We should do, what ever the cost, do an about face. We live such a short live as it is. We need to make the most of it in a very positive manner. Just because someone else looks different than you, makes more money than you, does not mean they are better than you. The difference is from our heart.

Our President said in a televised statement that part of the blame in the charleston tragedy came from guns, people with access to guns. "....We don't have all the facts, but we do know that, once again, innocent people were killed in part because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no trouble getting their hands on a gun....."

He needs to listen to what he is saying. Guns are not the problem. People with warped minds who meditate on how doing a horrific crime are, regardless of weapon used. I know for a fact, there are several good Christian men and women who have guns. I do not see them out on a shooting spree.

Look farther back to Cain and Abel on the Old Testament of the Holy Bible. Cain killed Abel with a rock. Look at Jeremiah 17:9.

"9The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Also, in the Old Testament, verse 2 Chronicles 7:14, reads, "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND."

The Heavenly Father or God, has always kept his promise. He will also keep the promise mentioned above. Problem is, we are not doing our part of the deal, praying. By not doing so and speaking up on our rights or our beliefs, look where it has gotten us. I dare say, that we brought it upon ourselves, or at least added to the issue.

Whether you get trained with a fire arm is for you to decide. More importantly, you should decide where your heart is.

In a release from 2AO, they has called upon its 160,000 members and 26 state chapters to begin aiding in comprehensive gun training and safety awareness in their church communities in order to protect themselves and their fellow parishioners from the potential of both foreign and domestic terrorist attacks.

"I'm deeply saddened by this loss of life in South Carolina and I pray for all those affected," said Bryan Crosswhite, President of 2AO, "but this isn't a time for churches and Americans to give up their guns and hope that nothing will happen. This is a time to exercise our 2nd Amendment Right to protect ourselves, our families, and our religious communities."

2AO was developed to support business owners that support the Second Amendment and connect those businesses with like-minded persons throughout the US. 2AO believes that the principles of freedom and liberty will only stand the test of time if the Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment are protected.

Now then, he may have a very good point, within the last two weeks, look at the shootings that has happened in Sikeston. That is too close to home.

I charge you with this set of scripture verses.

2 Timothy Chapter 4, verses 3-5

"3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry."
