Little store gives more

I live in a small town and Johnson's Grocery has made Fourth of July special for lots of people. At all times on Friday and Saturday, at least 10-15 cars were all around picking up their orders. Thanks, Kenny, and all other employees for all their hard work. We appreciate you.

A little Bootheel respect

I was recently reminded of the respect people in the Bootheel show grieving families. Leaving a service at Nunnelee's, simply every car, tractor, trailer truck, equipment pulled over. The police led us to the Matthews Cemetery. The city workers stopped working and held their hats to their chests. Helen Florist's driver stood outside his van with cap removed. Everyone stopped the complete journey. Kindness and respect are alive and well in our area, as I, for one, enjoyed being reminded of that on such a sad day. What a privilege to live in an area that still shows the kindness.

Tell it like it is

Has anybody ever noticed that people who have something to lose like jobs, especially public people, politicians and movie and TV stars, they weigh what to say according to what is politically correct, no matter what they truly believe? People that have nothing to lose tell it like it is. I am not talking bodily harm, just verbally. I feel sorry for people

that go past that, just using their voice and people they hurt.

History is going down

This is to the senators and the House of Representatives. You know, election time is coming up. You want people to vote for you. Leave the Confederate flag alone. It has not done anything to anybody and it is part of American history. Do not take it down and do not bother it. It does not bother anybody
