A dime a dozen

This is to the Sikeston sports editor. You reprinted pictures of Sikeston's win over Charleston. Sikeston is three times larger than Charleston. You put pictures in again in Thursday's paper, making Sikeston look like a football powerhouse. You belittle Charleston football players. Once is enough, two times is too much. Charleston has mostly ninth and tenth graders, then you show pictures again of Sikeston putting Charleston's punter in the end zone. Then you show a picture of a Sikeston player holding his hands up like he is wonderful. Sikeston coaches need to stop that. They are high school players. These kids watch TV so they want to be superstars. High school athletes are a dime a dozen and the really good ones, only maybe five percent, make it through college. The rest, after high school, go back to their neighborhoods. I have the right to talk about Sikeston-Charleston football. I have one son that graduated from Charleston, and one that graduated from Sikeston. Signed - Steve Ledbetter Sr.

No resting in peace

This is to the Garden of Memories. How would you like to walk into the final resting place of your loved ones and see grass thrown onto their monuments and in the flowers on their vases? Looks like hay bales all wadded up in the flowers. I think you people can do a little bit better than that. You know what, I'm sorry that I ever bought my final resting place out there. If I had the money, I would get my loved ones moved from out there. I've never seen such a mess in all my life.
