Know when to hold 'em

If you're like I am, you often wonder what charities to give to. I recently got an email from a friend of who not to and who to give to. I checked the list out with Snopes and they agreed with this list. Do not give to the American Red Cross. Their president and CEO makes $652,000 plus expenses; the March of Dimes, only one dime of every dollar goes to charity; The United Way, their president receives $375,000 plus expenses; Unicef, their CEO receives $1,200,000 plus all expenses (and that includes a Rolls Royce car) and less than 5 percent goes to charity; Goodwill, CEO and owner makes $3 million a year. You give him your stuff, he sells it, pays minimum wages - a nice guy. Charities to give to include: The Salvation Army, The American Legion, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Vets, Make-A-Wish, St. Jude Research Hospital, McDonald's Houses; Lions Club International, Vietnam Vets Association and Military Order of Purple Hearts. We've all been brainwashed to give to the American Red Cross, March of Dimes, all of these that they tell us not to. Maybe this will help you as we are coming up on Christmas and they are asking for all kinds of money. Don't give it to them.
