CHARLESTON -- A Sikeston man faces felony charges following a burglary investigation by the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department.

Jamie Lee White, 38, is charged with felony burglary in the second degree and felony theft/stealing of property valued at more than $500. White faces two additional misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, the investigation began last year when a local resident reported several items missing from his rural Mississippi County farm.

During the course of the investigation, Moore, Chief Deputy Charlie Marcum and Deputy Cory Hutcheson developed information that White and two minors were responsible for the theft. At that time, the deputies located and conducted interviews with both minors but were unable to interview White due to him having been returned on a parole warrant to the Missouri Department of Corrections, according to Moore.

Based on the information gained through the investigation, Hutcheson prepared a report on the burglary and obtained a warrant for White's arrest, the sheriff said. Upon his release from prison Tuesday morning, White was taken into custody by Mississippi County deputies and delivered to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

As of press time, Jamie White remained jailed in the Mississippi County Detention Center with bond set at $25,000.
