Beware of scammers

I recently received a phone call from 646-000-1111. They told me the U.S. Government wanted to give me a grant of $9,000, and I needed to call 646-580-1913. This was a New York number. They wanted to give me the grant, but didn't know my name.

Smells like a scam!

Nip it in the bud

Alert Sikeston BMU users. If BMU sells to Ameren or others, prices for electricity will go up more than 15 percent. You know BMU is community-owned property. We paid for that plant. We should get the money if it is sold. So be aware people in the community of Sikeston, you better fight against it.

Just to be clear, the Power Plant was financed through the sale of bonds. Those bonds totaling in the millions are far from being paid in full. In fact, the bond holders who put their money "own" the plant until those bonds are retired. But you are right. Other utility providers offer much higher rates. Our rates in Sikeston remain among the lowest in the entire state.
