PREP ROUNDUP: Scott City gets home win over NMCC, Sikeston freshman sweep Cape Central

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Braden Cox and Dylan Keller each went 2 for 3 at the bat as Scott City downed New Madrid County Central at home.

Dakota Talley went the distance on the mound to get the win for Scott City (4-1). He allowed two earned runs, struck out one and walked four.

Garrison Keene took the loss. He pitched six innings and gave up six earned runs on eight hits. He had no strikeouts and walked three.

Palmer Campbell hit a double to produce the only extra-base of the game to pace New Madrid County Central (0-2).

FRESHMAN BASEBALL

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston freshman baseball team swept a doubleheader against Cape Central at home on Friday winning the first 13-5 and the second 9-7.

Noah Hicks was the winning pitcher in Sikeston's first game while Trace Wheetley grabbed the win in the finale.
