KRCC: Ways to help

Saturday, April 2, 2016

The Kenny Rogers Children's Center currently serves each month approximately 500 children with special needs from birth through 21 years of age. The nonprofit facility has provided children in Southeast Missouri with physical, occupational and speech therapy for over 40 years. In that time, the Center has never charged a family for the services they receive. It also doesn't receive any state or federal funds.

Those who missed this year's annual telethon on March 19-20 can still help the Center.

The following are just a few ways.

-- Make a donation. Donations may be year-round and mailed to: Kenny Rogers Children's Center, 300 Floyd Drive, PO Box 608, Sikeston, MO 63801. Or they can be made online at the official KRCC website: www.kennyrogerscenter.org. People may also call in to the Center at 573-472-0397 and donate or pay their pledge with a credit card over the phone.

-- Employer payroll deductions. Employees are encouraged to ask their employers if they would participate in a payroll deduction program that would benefit the Center. Contact the Center for more details.

-- Participate in an upcoming KRCC fundraiser. The 31st annual Kow Pasture Klassic, which donates half of its proceeds to the Center, is April 16 at Schindler's Tavern in New Hamburg. Teams of four play a game of 9-hole wacky golf, using tennis balls and whatever type of club they want. To register for the Klassic call Rick Lawson at Schindler's Tavern 573-545-3709. KRCC's annual charity walk is held in the fall.

-- Host a fundraiser to benefit KRCC. Over the years various groups have organized fundraisers to benefit the Center. Whiffle ball tournaments, bunco nights and cosmic bingo are just some of examples of events organized through the years. Those interested in hosting a fundraiser for KRCC should call the Center at 573-472-0397.
