Dexter teen struck by car, killed Monday
DEXTER, Mo. -- A 13-year-old was struck by a car and killed Monday afternoon in Dexter.
According to reports, Tristan "Chase" Morrison, a student at T.S. Hill Middle School in Dexter, was hit by a car at the intersection of West Grant and South Sassafras at around 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. Morrison was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The Dexter Police Department is currently investigating the incident although initial reports are there was no indications the driver was speeding and no charges are expected to be filed.
Some students at Dexter schools wore purple Tuesday to remember Morrison.
Visitation for Morrison will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m.
