ROUNDUP: Silver Sox walk off over Jackson, Honey Badgers sweep Charleston 16U

Picking up a suspended game from last week, the Sikeston Silver Sox Senior Legion baseball team picked up a dramatic win against Jackson's senior legion on Tuesday.

Trailing 5-4, Nick Allred's two-run hit pushed Tyler Daugherty across for the tie then Gavin Pobst in for a 6-5 win.

Sikeston picked up the game in the top of the sixth inning with one out and trailing Jackson 3-2. A gush of rainfall forced their originally scheduled June 13 game to resume Tuesday.

Chaffee sweeps Charleston 16U

The Chaffee Honey Badgers cranked out 38 hits over two games while sweeping Charleston's 16U Squirrels 11-4 the first game and 22-14 in five innings the second during a doubleheader on Monday.

In the first game, Chaffee's Trent Steffens and Clay Sauceda each had four hits with Sauceda adding a triple and three RBI.

Alec Bogenpohl picked up the win on the mound after throwing six innings and allowing four runs on four hits and two walks. He struck out 10.

Charleston had six hits with one extra base hit, which was a double from Stephen Christian.

Ajay Sager was the losing pitcher after 3 1/3 innings. He allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and four walks. Will Biggs pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief giving up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out five.

Gabe Henson and Bryan McNeely led the Honey Badgers with four hits each in the second game. Henson added five RBI.

Chaffee, who scored 11 runs in the second inning, had six players with at least two RBI.

Andrew Brown was the winning pitcher after three innings. He allowed 10 runs (three earned) on seven hits and seven walks.

Hunter Gates, Kasten Campbell and Sager each had two hits for Charleston. Alex Guzman added three RBI and a double.
