Same thing - different name

This is in response to "Lots of voice and little knowledge." In the last school board election, the parents and citizens of the Sikeston School District went to the polls and elected a representative who had promised them to work against Common Core and all of its elements. The Missouri legislature heard the voice of the people and threw out the Common Core standards, to be replaced by Missouri standards. The education gods in Jefferson City railroaded the group who worked on the new standards and presented to the schools of our state a set of standards patterned on Common Core. They are new in name only. If the young lady who was elected to our school board is indeed pushing back (as much as she can) from the acceptance of curriculum from Common Core publishers and some teaching methods which have never been used before and continue to fail to raise the education level of our children, I find it very small of you to respond to her efforts by insinuating that her voice is too large for her level of education. I would speculate by the quality of the piece put in SpeakOut, you're level of education leaves something to be desired. This makes me hope that you are not a member of our school board.

Trashier by the day

I tried getting ahold of code enforcement about a house on Matthews Street. They have that backyard so junked up. Me and my husband have to look at it every day when we got to work, and they just seem to be putting more and more trash in the backyard. Could Sikeston code enforcement please check it out?
