Sikeston girls drop regular season finale to Ste. Genevieve

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- The Sikeston girls basketball team had their three-game win streak snapped by Ste. Genevieve Wednesday in their final regular season game 59-51.

The Bulldogs fell behind 29-22 at halftime and played evenly with the Dragons the rest of the way.

Senior Tyeshia Mitchell led Sikeston with 23 points. Larysa McClellon added 17 for the Bulldogs, who end the regular season with a 10-15 record.

Ste. Genevieve's Madison Reynolds went off for 32 points while Avery Reed chipped in 13 for the Dragons.

Both Sikeston and Ste. Genevieve will take part in the Class 4, District 1 tournament Saturday at Ste. Genevieve High School.

Sikeston is the third seed and will take on No. 6 Perryville at 2 p.m. Ste. Genevieve (19-8) is the fourth seed and takes on No. 5 Cape Central at 5 p.m.
