At around midnight Monday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to an alarm sounding at Re-Armm Inc. on South Main.
According to Sgt. Jon Broom, DPS public information officer, when officers checked the building, they discovered evidence of forced entry. Officers also determined the suspects had already fled the scene.
"Once inside officers discovered the firearm display case had been damaged and what appeared to be missing firearms," Broom said in a news release.
The business owner was contacted and he confirmed several firearms were missing.
The DPS criminal investigation unit was activated and evidence was collected at the scene, Broom noted.
