2016-17 Standard Democrat Boys Basketball Player of the Year: Fred Thatch, Sikeston
Best Game: Feb. 3, 2017, Sikeston won 102-66 over Poplar Bluff: It was supposed to be a battle for the SEMO Conference crown, but Thatch and Co. made it a blowout. He shot 13 for 21 from the floor and drained a career-high five threes.

He averaged close to a triple-double with 25.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, five assists and three steals for Sikeston, who finished with a 24-5 record and a second-straight quarterfinal appearance.
