Chaffee baseball moves into district semifinal, C3D1 tournament pushed back

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Landon Tenkhoff smacked a two-run home run and had four RBIs during Chaffee's 8-1 first round win over seventh-seeded Kingston Friday in the Class 2, District 3 tournament in Ste. Genevieve.

Tenkhoff added a double and went 2 for 4 at the plate for the second-seeded Red Devils. Andrew Brown went 3 for 4, Gabe Henson went 2 for 4 with a double and Kade Sullivan went 2 for 3 with a double.

Brennan Miller earned the win on the mound after 2 1/3 innings of scoreless and hitless pitching. Miller struck out three and walked one for Chaffee, who advanced to the semifinal round on Saturday against No. 3 Bismarck at 3:30 p.m.

Bismarck defeated sixth-seeded Crystal City 10- in another first round game.

Class 3, District 1

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- The Class 3, District 1 tournament originally scheduled to kick off Friday afternoon was postponed due to wet field conditions. The six-team tournament hosted at Hillhouse Park in Charleston, Mo., will now begin the first round on Saturday.

Fourth-seeded East Prairie will take on No. 5 Kelly at 4 p.m. followed by No. 6 Charleston and third-seeded Caruthersville at 6:30 p.m.

The semifinal round was moved to Monday. Top-seeded Portageville will play the winner of the East Prairie-Kelly game at 3 p.m. No. 2 Scott City will play the winner of Charleston-Caruthersville at 5:30 p.m.

The championship game was moved to Tuesday at 5 p.m.
