Friday, June 16, 2017

In celebrating the birth of this nation, some communities have ordinances as to when you can set off fireworks.

The sale of fireworks within the City of Portageville is from June 29 through July 4th. There is one fireworks stand in Portageville and is located at Donny Benthal's tractor shed, located on Highway 162. The proceeds will benefit the Apostolic Light House Church near Malden.

In Portageville, you can shoot fireworks between July 2 and July 5 before 10 p.m.

In Marston, the City allows fireworks during July 2 through July 6.

For New Madrid, fireworks may be shot off between June 27 and July 3 from 8 AM to 10 PM. On July 4th, you may shoot off fire works from 10 AM 12 midnight. As of press time, no one is selling fireworks in the City Limits.

The City of Lilbourn allows you to buy and shoot fireworks beginning two weeks prior to the Fourth of July through three days after the Fourth of July.
