Sikeston man facing charges in stabbing

SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man faces multiple charges after allegedly stabbing two people with a broken beer bottle Sunday.

Rodney R. Young, 40, is charged with two counts of felony first-degree domestic assault causing serious physical injury; one count of felony unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of felony armed criminal action; and one count of felony first-degree endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk, according to online court records.

Around 3 p.m. Sunday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 100 block of North Handy Street in reference to a domestic assault, DPS reports said.

According to Sikeston DPS, a broken beer bottle was the weapon in the incident that appeared to have been initiated by an argument between Young and an ex-girlfriend. Two victims were treated and released for laceration. Young was also treated at a hospital for his wounds.

Bond is set at $75,000 cash or surety, and Young remains in the Scott County Jail.
