Safe stolen in business burlgary

SIKESTON - The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's assistance as they work to solve a business burglary.

Sometime late Thursday or early Friday, The Knead, a local cafe which serves lunch and baked goods and also provides a second chance for those in recovery, was burglarized.

According to DPS Sgt. Jon Broom, a rock was used to smash the glass to the front door to gain entry to the business which is located on Malone Avenue. The iPad register, the safe and an undermined amount of cash was reported missing.

"Sikeston detectives are following up on leads and investigating this case but need the community's help," Broom said in a news release. Anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to contact the Sikeston Department of Public Safety at 471-6200.

All tips will remain anonymous. The person who provides information that helps lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible may be eligible for a cash reward, Broom said.
