ASH FLAT, Ark. -- Earnest Junior Simmons, 90, died Feb. 28, 2018, at the Eagle Crest Nursing Home in Ash Flat.
Born Oct. 1, 1927, in Essex, Mo., son of the late Earnest C. and Ora Lee Grimes Simmons, he had worked as a dairy farmer and lived in the Essex area until moving to Arkansas in 2006. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: three sisters, Ruby Fletcher and Geraldine Gist of Cherokee Village and Shirley Triplett of Marion, Ill.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Thelma, Anna Lee and Alpha Omega and Alice.
Visitation will be from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dexter Church of Christ in Dexter, Mo., with Kevin Lawrence of Gideon, Mo., officiating.
Burial will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with full military honors.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
