Brenda Newton

SIKESTON -- Brenda J. Newton, age 75, died April 2, 2018 at Delta South Skilled Nursing Center in Sikeston.

She was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Marston, to the late Roy L. and Opal (Fausett) Newton. Brenda was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and the Sikeston Elks Lodge 2319. She was an elementary school teacher for New Madrid Public Schools before retiring.

She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Bonnie Newton and Ron and Lynn Newton all of Sikeston; three nieces, Kelly Dudley, Diana Testa and Lori Templeton; two nephews, Darin Newton and David Newton; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. John Tartar will officiate.

Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
