Sikeston man facing charges for burglary, domestic assault
SIKESTON — A Sikeston man faces charges for alleged burglary, property damage and domestic assault.
Albert Patterson III, 59, is charged with felony first degree burglary, misdemeanor second-degree property damage and misdemeanor fourth degree domestic assault-first or second offense, according to online court records.
At about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 500 block of Branum Street in reference to a kidnapping, according to DPS reports. Officers reportedly made contact with the victim who said her husband with whom she’s separated from — identified as Patterson — came to her house and tried to get her to open the door. She told police she wouldn’t open the door so he left. About 10 minutes later, Patterson allegedly returned and kicked the door open. She said he came into her home, and in that time, he ripped some of her clothing, the woman told police. She said he pushed her around the bedroom, took her phone away and broke it. Patterson allegedly told her to get in his truck with him, and he drove to an address on Branum Street, where the woman said she was able to get out of the truck and call for help.
Patterson, who was also intoxicated at the time, was arrested and transported the Scott County Jail in Benton. Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety and no contact with the victim. He posted bond Monday, and an arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 25 in Scott County Court.
