CHARLESTON, Mo. - James Edward "Jimmy" Cleaves, 64, died Nov. 20, 2016, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 8, 1952, in Charleston to the late Jessie and Callie Nicholson Cleaves, he attended Charleston High School and worked at Flag Stop for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston.

Survivors include: three daughters, Porsha Owens , Janis Owens and Christal Ewing of Charleston; seven brothers, Randy Cleaves of Cape Girardeau, Samuel Cleaves, Steve Cleaves, John Cleaves and Timothy Cleaves of Columbus, Ohio, Jessie Cleaves of Louisville, Ky., and Phillip Cleaves of Queens, N.Y.; three sisters, Delores Hall of Charleston and Larcene Robinson and Diana Cleaves of Cape Girardeau; his companion of 41 years, Ruby Owens; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church. Floyd Wade, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home in Charleston in charge of arrangements.
